Cinema revenues
In 2017, box office revenues for EU 28 countries fell by euros from the previous year. In several countries revenues increased from the previous year including the UK, Russia and Germany. France and Italy on the other hand saw revenues fall between 2016 and 2017.
Most successful films
In 2017, the Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk saw the highest number of admissions in Europe. This was followed by Kingsman: The Golden Circle with almost admissions and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets with almost ** admissions across European cinemas. Between them, the top 20 films for admissions in Europe saw nearly * cinema goers.
