Note on the source: the designation as arthouse or repertory cinema is based on surveys carried out at regular intervals, in which the FFA asks all cinema operators about their specific program, as well as other means of classification, such as by German government representatives. For this statistic, data gained from around 92 per cent of all theatres registered by the FFA was analyzed.
Figures for 2019 were taken from earlier publications.
