In February 2023, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) was created, focusing on the energy and net zero portfolio from the former Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).Â
Survey methodology in 2012 was a Kantar face-to-face omnibus survey. In 2021, the random probability survey ABOS (Address Based Online Survey) was introduced, for which the respondents are randomly selected based on their postcode address file. Due to a change in survey methodology, the source states that direct comparisons between time series is not possible.
A 2023 survey found that only **** percent of United Kingdom's respondents did not believe that nuclear energy will help combat climate change in the United Kingdom. By comparison, ** percent of the respondents supported nuclear energy as an energy source that will help combat climate change. The largest share of the respondents, however, did not have a strong opinion on the topic.
