Best-in-Class (positive screening) assets typically involve selecting the top share of companies within a sector using ESG criteria. For example, a portfolio manager might restrict the investable universe to the top 50 percent based on an ESG rating screen. Other Best-in-Class methods also exist (e.g. Best-in-Universe, Best-in-Effort)."
