These include: the British Museum, Museum of the Home, Horniman Museum, Imperial War Museums, National Coal Mining Museum, National Gallery, National Museums Liverpool, National Portrait Gallery, Natural History Museum, Royal Armouries, Royal Museums Greenwich, Science Museum Group, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Tate Gallery Group, Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Wallace Collection.
The total number of overseas visitors to museums sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in England grew sharply in 2023/2024 over the previous fiscal year. Despite the annual increase, attendance by overseas visitors remained significantly below pre-pandemic levels, reaching **** million between April 2023 and March 2024.
