These include: the British Museum, Museum of the Home, Horniman Museum, Imperial War Museums, National Coal Mining Museum, National Gallery, National Museums Liverpool, National Portrait Gallery, Natural History Museum, Royal Armouries, Royal Museums Greenwich, Science Museum Group, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Tate Gallery Group, Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Wallace Collection.
Attendance at museums sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in England grew significantly in 2023/2024 over the previous fiscal year. Despite the sharp annual increase, the number of visitors to DCMS-sponsored museums in England remained below pre-pandemic levels, reaching around **** million between April 2023 and March 2024.
