Senior executives from corporate and private equity firms were asked in the second and third quarters of 2020 what the biggest motivation is if they are considering divestments. Countering the effect of COVID-19 was the main reason for divestment decisions, quoted by 83 percent of respondents in that year. Second came capital raising for increased financial flexibility with 55 percent, and third was regulatory pressure at 28 percent.
