According to a survey held among U.S. adults in 2025, the share of respondents who reported ever having listened to an audiobook amounted to 58 percent. The percentage remained relatively stable since 2020, indicating little growth in terms of new consumers engaging with the format, but jumped substantially in 2023, surpassing 50 percent for the first time and continued to increase in 2025. That being said, audiobook revenue continues to grow consistently each year.
