Of all the precious metals, silver had by far the largest mine production volume, having amounted to an estimated 26,000 metric tons worldwide in 2025. Gold had the second-largest mine production volume worldwide that year, amounting to an estimated 3,300 metric tons. By comparison, the platinum group metals platinum and palladium had considerably smaller production volumes.
