As of 2023, De Beers' diamond production alone amounted to nearly **** million carats.
Which countries produce the most rough diamonds?
Russia was by far the world's leading diamond-producing country in 2022, accounting for a ** percent share of global rough diamond production. Botswana, which accounted for a ** percent share of global rough diamond production, and Canada, with ** percent of global production, followed in second and third place, respectively, at that time. With the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa also ranking among the five leading diamond producing countries, Africa is the world's largest diamond producing macro-region, having accounted for more than half of global production in 2022.
