Energy from non-fossil fuel combustible electricity generation is measured based on input heat requirements, while non-combustible renewable sources are measured based on the energy content of their gross electricity output.

In 2025, the total energy supply reached 112.8 exajoules in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) combined, with fossil fuels dominating the share of total supply. Meanwhile, the region's total energy consumption from hydroelectricity and renewable energies combined amounted to over ** exajoules in the same year.Â
