Rising fertilizer prices following the closing of the Strait of Hormuz have started to affect farmers in the United States. According to a survey among 5,700 farmers nationwide, ** percent of farmers in the Southern region could not afford to buy all required fertilizer as of April 2026. In the Midwest, this figure was the lowest, with only ** percent of farmers unable to afford to buy all required fertilizers.
