In 2024, Oviva Direkt was the most frequently redeemed digital health application (DiGA) in Germany, accounting for ** percent of all digital dispensations. This DiGA can be prescribed to people with obesity to support weight loss, for example.

After a physician issues a DiGA prescription or after the relevant health insurance approval, the patient receives an activation code that enables them to use the application. The DiGA manufacturer can only bill the patient’s health insurance for the costs once the code has been activated.
