In September 2022, 35 percent of French people reported spending a total of between 100 and 199 U.S. dollars per month on their energy bill, including electricity as well as gas or other energy sources. While just over a quarter of respondents said they paid less than 100 U.S. dollars per month, 28 percent were paying more than 200 U.S. dollars per month, that is to say one in four people.

In the context of the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, the French are facing an increase in energy prices at the end of 2022.
