Warehouses in France must meet specific standards, and their classification depends on their uses as well as the type of products they store. Criteria such as access that does not pass through an urban area or a heavy truck parking lot are important to be classified as Class A, whereas for Class B, the criteria are those considered standard (extinguishing system meeting standards and holding operating permits, for example).
In France, Class A and B logistics warehouses represent about half of the French market, with the other half composed of Class C warehouses, refrigerated warehouses, and parcel delivery warehouses. As of January 1, 2022, the transaction area in the French Class A warehouse market amounted to nearly *** million square meters, while that of other warehouses was over ** square meters.
