This statistic shows the evolution of permanent voluntary departures at the start of the school year among public school teachers employed by the Ministry of National Education between the 2008-2009 and 2020-2021 school years, by level of education. At the start of the 2020-2021 school year, nearly 3,000 public sector teachers employed by the state chose to leave the Ministry of National Education. This represents 741 more departures than the previous year, and more than six times as many as in 2012-2013. In 2020-2021, the largest number of resignations or requests for mutual termination agreements came from public primary school teachers.
