Hungarians were on average the Europeans with the longest erect penis in the old continent. They exceed the Czechs by 5 millimeters with 16.51 cm. According to the latest 2015 survey, the average size of the erect penis of the French was 14.47 cm, the same as Icelanders and Germans. In Europe, still according to this survey, Romanians reported having the smallest penis with a size of 12.44 centimeters. Worldwide, it is the Congolese who reported having the longest penis with 18 centimeters.

Penis size and locker room syndrome

Penis size can become a source of anxiety and concern for some men. What psychologists call locker room syndrome is an abnormal perception of the body, particularly the genital parts, which can lead to real stress situations when undressing in front of other men. Some men therefore resort to cosmetic surgery to lengthen or thicken their penis. However, these cosmetic surgery operations were rare; in the same year 2015, only 228 penile thickenings were performed in France, which is half as many as vaginal rejuvenations.

Body complexes

One’s body esteem is largely shaped by their environment and the perception of those around them regarding their own body. Body complexes can appear at any age but affect men and women to varying degrees. In 2019, 12 percent of French men said they were very satisfied with their physical appearance compared to only 6 percent of French women, and 11 percent of women said they were not satisfied with their appearance. Young French women were also twice as likely to have been victims of mockery or insults about their body than their male counterparts. In response, some French men and women resort to cosmetic surgery with more than 70,000 procedures in 2015; but the phenomenon is much less widespread than in the United States or Brazil.
