La Poste is a French company that operates postal services but also has activities in banking, insurance, is a mobile phone operator, a provider of digital services and commerce solutions, online commerce (marketing, logistics), and the collection and sale of personal data. La Poste and its subsidiaries form Le Groupe La Poste.
Before the postal sector was opened to competition in the 2000s, La Poste had a monopoly on the routing and distribution of mail in France, making it the historic mail operator. It is also the leading mail operator in Europe. Additionally, it is the second-largest European express parcel operator by revenue, through its subsidiaries.
