* Three questions were asked of the respondents: "In the past 3 months, have you had a severe headache or migraine? ...Lower back pain? ...Neck pain?" Respondents were asked to report pain that lasted an entire day or more and to disregard fleeting or minor pain. Individuals may be represented in multiple columns.
Estimates are age-adjusted based on the standard population of the year 2000 using five age groups: Persons aged 18 to 44 years, 45 to 54 years, 55 to 64 years, 65 to 74 years, and 75 years and older. The age-adjusted estimates in this table may differ from other age-adjusted estimates based on similar data presented elsewhere if different age groups are used for the adjustment procedure.
