This chart shows the global lithium consumption in 2010 and 2021 by usage. In 2010, lithium was primarily used in the production of ceramics and glass, a usage that slightly increased between 2010 and 2021. The most notable change is the explosion in lithium consumption for battery production. Only tons of lithium were used for this purpose in 2010, compared to * in 2021. This sharp increase is due to the massive production of batteries, whether for mobile phones or electric vehicles.
