This statistic shows the evolution of the share of 15-year-old adolescents suffering from obesity between 1990 and 2022 worldwide, by gender. In 2022, 6.7 percent of boys and 5.2 percent of girls aged 15 were obese globally. Over 32 years, the obesity rate has quadrupled among adolescents, as well as among children. Among adults, the rate has more than doubled.
