* Starting in 2006, the data also include arrests of foreign fugitives and non-fugitives under the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) National Fugitive Operations Program.
** Starting in 2008, the data also include all administrative arrests carried out by ICE ERO.
*** Starting in 2012, the data also include law enforcement encounters by the CBP Office of Field Operations (OFO), which reflect attempts of illegal entries into the United States.
**** Before 2016, the reporting methodology limited the data to one administrative arrest by ERO for a single person in one day; starting in 2016, the reporting methodology was revised to align with ICE ERO reporting, which may include multiple arrests in one day.
Starting in 2020, the data include CBP encounters resulting in expulsions for public health reasons under U.S. Code Title 42 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
