A survey conducted in February 2020 in Mexico revealed that WhatsApp is the preferred social network or instant messaging application among users for starting romantic relationships or flirting. 33.3 percent of users identified this social network as their favorite. Facebook was the second most preferred application among Mexicans for flirting, with just over 25 percent of users favoring it.
