Playing with money online (on the Internet) is considered if a personal device (mobile, computer, tablet, etc.) has been used to access websites or gambling or betting applications with the aim of winning money.
On the other hand, playing with money in person (offline) is considered if one has physically visited establishments specialized in gambling or betting or has used betting terminals in bars or other hospitality establishments with the aim of winning money.

According to the biennial survey on alcohol, drugs, and other addictions in Spain (EDADES) by the Ministry of Health, more than 60 percent of the population spent money on in-person gambling in 2019. In the case of online gambling, the percentage rose to 9.1 percent among men and 4.2 percent among the female population.
