This statistic shows the evolution of the number of women and men who represented Spain in the Summer Olympic Games from Barcelona 1992 to Paris 2024. As can be seen, men have always tended to outnumber women. In the case of the latest edition, the situation changed. Specifically, the number of female athletes on the official list of the Spanish Olympic team rose to 192, which not only represented an increase of nearly 60 athletes compared to Tokyo 2020, but also exceeded the number of male athletes representing Spain in the French capital by two.
