According to official data, Mexico surpassed two million cases of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2021. Just over half of the people infected by the virus between February 2020 and October 2021 were women, while about 49 percent were men. At the end of June 2022, the age group with the highest number of people who tested positive for COVID-19 was the category of citizens between 30 and 44 years old. The groups with the lowest number of cases were adults over 90 years old, and children and adolescents under 15 years old.
