This statistic presents the evolution of gold reserves held by the Central Bank of Spain between the years 2000 and 2023. In 2000, Spain had gold reserves of 525.467 tons, a quantity that remained relatively stable until 2004, when the Bank of Spain began selling its monetary gold. The reserves decreased by almost half between 2004 and 2007, being 281.578 tons in 2023.
