This graph showed the level of the highest extreme temperatures ever recorded and their dates between 1872 and 2022. The first heat record was broken during the summer of 1874 with 38.4 degrees Celsius. It was in 1947 that the 40-degree mark was exceeded for the first time in Paris. The 40 degrees were exceeded again several times in recent years, but it was in 2019 that a new heat record was set with 42.6 degrees.
