In September 2021, in France, among sixth-grade students, only ** percent of the girls surveyed agreed or strongly agreed with the statement "I think I passed the math test," while nearly ** percent of the boys agreed with this statement. A similar trend was observed when the same question was asked about the French test.

It can thus be noted that girls were less confident than boys when facing assessments, particularly in mathematics. However, girls generally perform at least as well, if not better, than boys on their exams. For example, a higher percentage of girls than boys obtained the national diploma in 2019.
