All figures are estimates, with 2024 being a forecast from ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ. See the "Details" tab for more information;
All figures have been gathered and calculated by ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ, using various sources. Individual countries rarely report consistent data on card payments, with some of the most common figures quoted stemming from third-party providers. Oftentimes, such data originates from a survey or has been requested from local issuers and/or acquirers.
Due to these tracking issues, it is therefore likely that card payment data is incomplete or can be difficult to compare between countries. It can also happen that figures change in retrospect as time progresses and methodologies develop.
The sources used by ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ include:
- ;
- Domestic central banks, such as the NPIPs segment of the ;
- If the source did not yet have 2024 figures, these were then estimated by ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ.
Figures on "cards with a credit function" often include "cards with a delayed debit function" (e.g., charge cards). If the source did not already combine such figures themselves, ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ did so.
Figures have been rounded.
