The aviation industry is making strides towards sustainability, with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply increasing **-fold since 2021. However, SAF still accounts for a mere *** percent of total jet fuel supply worldwide, translating to around **** billion liters in 2024. 

Production capacity and demand on the rise

Global SAF production capacity is set to experience substantial growth in the coming years. By 2025, it is forecast to reach nearly **** billion gallons, up from **** billion gallons in 2023. This increase in production aligns with the growing demand for SAF, which is expected to surpass **** billion gallons by 2025. The majority of this demand stems from voluntary offtake agreements, while EU mandates account for a smaller portion. Looking further ahead, worldwide demand for SAF could reach nearly ** billion gallons by 2050, according to conservative estimates. 

Airport supply stream

With many airlines committed to greater use of SAF, the necessary support infrastructure has also broadened. The number of airports distributing SAF, not only as batch deliveries but also on an ongoing basis, has risen **-fold in just 10 years, although growth has stalled slightly in recent years.
