A 2024 analysis found that 117 large data centers could be constructed on undeveloped land in the North East region of the United Kingdom, providing more than 70,000 megawatts of data center capacity. Data center expansion in London, the UK’s primary hub, is being hindered by power constraints, sparking interest in alternative markets.
