The following details regarding survey methodology were added by the source; "The decision-makers who were surveyed work for asset management firms, wealth management firms, private banks, insurers, pension funds, family offices, foundations, endowment funds and sovereign wealth funds. Their job titles include vice president or director of investments, chief investment officer, head of ESG/sustainable investments, portfolio manager and other investment decision-maker. Their institutions’ assets under management (AUM) range from less than 1 billion U.S. dollars to 50 billion U.S. dollars or more."

As of 2024, less than 10 percent of institutional investors surveyed strongly disagreed with the statement, noting their institution would decrease consideration towards Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) during investment decisions. Over half of those surveyed "somewhat agreed" that ESG would be taken less into consideration, while 13 percent strongly agreed. Â
