As of 2024, the main obstacles against the adoption of agricultural technology in the farming industry worldwide were unclear return on investment and high implementation and maintenance costs. Unclear ROI was especially a concern in North America, as indicated by ** percent of respondents against ** percent in Europe and ** percent in Latin America. In Europe, farmers identified as the main challenge a lack of scale to make full use of the investment (** percent of respondents). In India and Latin America, the lack of technical support in case of problems was also a major concern (** percent of respondents in India and ** percent in Latin America).
