A survey from 2024 found that around 39 percent of women in the U.S. who were currently pregnant or had ever been pregnant said they experienced barriers to accessing the health care they needed during pregnancy or childbirth. The inability to take time off/find childcare to attend appointments was the most reported barrier in 2024. This was also the most reported barrier in the preceding year.
