A study of consumers in major global markets shows a stagnation in paid news consumption. In 2024, 17 percent of survey participants said they made any type of payment for online news, a figure that has remained unchanged since 2022. A similar hiatus was observed in case of ongoing subscriptions, at the level of 13 percent in the past three years.
