Over the given period, the seat capacity of low-cost airlines and legacy airlines was following a steady increasing trend until 2019. The following year, these numbers plummeted significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the industry. However, after the first year of the pandemic, airline seat capacity rebounded and reached approximately *** billion for low-cost and *** billion for legacy airlines in 2024.
