Over the last ten years, EasyJet's passenger numbers in the UK have been steadily increasing until 2019, before decreasing significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the passenger traffic rebounded in 2021 and kept rising in the following years. As of 2024, easyJet uplifted 89.7 million passengers, representing an eight percent increase compared to the previous year. 

Financial performance of EasyJet

EasyJet is a British low-cost airline, founded in 1995, with headquarters at London Luton Airport in the United Kingdom (UK). EasyJet's flights include national and international destinations. In 2017, easyJet UK Ltd joined the easyJet Airline Company Ltd Group. This addition made it UK's biggest airline in terms of passengers transported in 2023. 
The British airline has grown immensely in recent years. However, it was greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, EasyJet reported a decrease of about 53 percent in annual revenue, which amounted to three billion British pounds. In addition, a net loss of a billion British pounds was recorded for the first time in 12 years. However, the company's performance rebounded after the first shocks of the pandemic. In 2023, the annual revenue of EasyJet amounted to 8.2 billion British pounds, which was the new peak registered in the given period.
