The index evaluates 48 retirement income systems worldwide using more than 50 indicators across three categories: adequacy, sustainability, and integrity. Each category is weighted at 40 percent, 35 percent, and 25 percent, respectively.
Pension systems are graded on a scale from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating stronger, more sustainable systems.
