Over the past five years, Eastern and Southern Africa received the highest annual disbursements by the International Development Association (IDA). In 2023, more than ** billion U.S. dollars was disbursed to the region, followed by Western and Central Africa with nearly eight billion dollars. The IDA is a part of the World Bank Group and provides loans to low-income countries.
