Citation formats

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank system, committed billions of dollars to various sectors within low- and middle-income countries between the fiscal years 2019 and 2023. While each thematic sector showed increasing commitment value over time, some increased more than others, such as human development and gender, environment and natural resources management, and urban and rural development. Out of each thematic area, human development and gender as well as urban and rural development had the highest commitment values by FY2023, at over 12 billion and 14 billion U.S. dollars, respectively.
