As of fall 2023, seasonal live-streaming viewership on Twitch and YouTube Gaming saw certain trends: overall, viewership was generally higher in the winter, and generally lower in the summer, albeit with some deviations. In 2021, winter and spring saw the highest live-streaming viewership rates, reaching 7.65 billion and 7.8 billion of hours watched, respectively. In contrast, 2023 was the only year in which winter was the season with the lowest viewership rates, although the number of hours watched remained high.
