The Israeli education system is divided into four different streams: public-Hebrew-religious, public-Hebrew-secular, public-Arabic, and independent religious schools. Most Israeli children attend public schools, either Hebrew or Arabic.

Secondary school dropout rate in Jerusalem 2022, by ethnicity
During the 2021/22 academic year up to the start of the 2022/23 year, 4.08 percent of secondary school students, in the Hebrew language school system in Jerusalem, ceased attending school. Among Arab students in the city, the dropout rate was slightly lower, at 3.9 percent.Â
