In 2023, North America was the region that registered the highest proportion of centralized solar installations in new installations. These accounted for some 67 percent of the new solar PV capacity added that year. Africa and the Middle East, and Latin America and the Caribbean registered the largest share of decentralized solar, both with 64 percent.Â
