As of the end of 2024, approximately ** percent of the installed photovoltaic cells and panels in Italy were made of polycrystalline silicon. Polycrystalline silicon-based PV panels were followed by monocrystalline panels. Thin film panels, amorphous silicon, and other types were used to a relatively higher extent in the Apulia region, where they represented a percent share of the installed power in total.
