According to a survey conducted in 2023, ** percent of Democrats in the United States said that they would only vote for a candidate who shares their views on abortion, while ** percent said that they would consider a candidate's position on abortion as just one of many important factors. A further **** percent did not see this as a major issue at all. However, Democrats aged between 18 and 29 years and Democrat women were most likely to say that they would only vote for a candidate who shares their views on abortion, totaling ** percent and ** percent respectively. In contrast, Democrats aged between 50 and 64 years and Democrat men were most likely to say that they did not see this as a major issue, with ** percent of each demographic group sharing this belief.Â
