As of May 2023, around half of the respondents in the United States reported limiting or avoiding clicking on ads due to cybersecurity concerns. Additionally, 43 percent said they do not answer phone calls to protect their personal data, and 42 percent of U.S. adults reported not opening emails for the same reason.
