*TRY Foreign Exchange Protected Deposit Account Converted from FX protects the savings of customers with foreign currency deposits in USD, EUR and GBP or gold deposit accounts against changes in exchange rates, provided that they are converted into Turkish lira. This option was included among the options from August 2022 in the survey.
**The total number of survey participants accounted for 2,400 in the second quarter of 2023, of which 608 had some sort of savings.

According to a survey conducted every quarter, keeping cash or gold at home "under the mattress" was generally the preferred way to save in Turkey. In the second quarter of 2023, ** percent of the Turkish people kept their savings at home. In contrast, only *** percent resorted to funds for their savings.
