However, Isner's run in the competition did not last long, losing by three straight sets to Thiemo Carsten Jannick de Bakker in the second record. Eight years later, Isner featured in the second-longest ever match at Wimbledon, this time losing to Kevin Anderson in a match lasting over *** and a half hours.Â
