In Portugal, the production volume of wine with protected designation of origin (PDO) suffered oscillations during the period analyzed. The highest volume of wine produced was reached during the harvest season of 2023/2024, with million hectoliters. Douro was constantly the region responsible for the highest production of PDO wine in the country.
